Peter Sanders

Peter Sanders began his career in the mid-1960s as one of London’s key photographers of rock musicians. His pictures of Bob Dylan, Jimi Hendrix, The Doors, The Rolling Stones, The Who and many others performing are classics of the genre. In 1970, he set off for India, cameras in hand. He travelled for seven months. This trip became a spiritual odyssey that led him onto Morocco and thereafter to the Holy cities of Makkah and Madinah, where he photographed the hajj at a time when few professional photographers had access to Islam’s holiest sanctuaries. Continuing to travel far and wide, Peter Sanders has built up a photographic archive of well over a quarter of a million transparencies from forty countries around the world

This image of the woman is natural and sophisticated. It portrays innocence and simplicity. The Hijab, which the woman is wearing, is the flag of France.  I really admire the way in which it is worn loosely and has a ruffled effect giving texture and depth to the photograph. This is different in comparison to how neatly it is normally worn by Muslim women. Also it shows peace amongst countries and nations and that you can be a Muslim in any country in the world. Sanders, has cleverly used this style in his photography. The only colours used in the photo are those in the flag. Her expression is happy and smiling because she wants to show us she is peaceful in different countries. In France, people want to ban women wearing hijab. In this photo the woman is showing patriotism to France with the colours of the flag included in her hijab. She is using her religion to put her point across. It relates to my idea of Islam because she is showing her hijab and her religion. Colour can be important to a culture. If this image were in black and white it would not have the same effect because it would not display the colours of the flag, which is the focal point and the theme of the photograph that actually it doesn’t matter what material or flag a Muslim women chooses to wear as her hijab. ‘The French veil’ France, 2013.

First response of Peter Sanders

This image is cool and simple. This is same style as the photographer Peter Sanders. This woman is wearing bright United Kingdom flag. I had used the white backdrop and then I edited this photo in Photoshop. I had changed the white background into blue background same as photographer's work. And then I had used brightness and contrast to make it more brighter. There is nothing improve this image. I have done well in this image.

Same as above. This image is simple. This  image tells us that she's from England because as the audience saw the women is wearing red, white and blue scarf to make it look United Kingdom's flag. She's smiling because it's doesn't matter where you born in different countries as a muslim. If she is american, then it doesn't matter she can be american muslim. This is same style as photographer's work. I changed the white background into blue background. And again, I used brightness and contrast to make it more brighter. I had make the eyes more brighter because it will get attention from the audience.

This image tells us that we don't know where's from because there are many flags of blue and white such as Israel, Greece.
