Final Piece Developing

Final Images

These are the two images I'm going to use on the final piece. The positive image is very bright, colourful, full of passion, vibrant and fun! I had crop this image to make it more interesting and also I had tried to make it similar in composition as the negative image. The negative image is very dark, powerful, interesting, dramatic and fragile.

I tried to experiment with the final piece. This is my prototype. I have drawn the triangles net using 2D design software and then I printed it out in card. I cut it out and then I stuck the images on. When I saw this prototype, I felt it was not bold enough and I wanted the final piece to be unique and distinctive.

After I did the triangles, I drew the squares on the 2D design and then i cut the square nets out, and then I glued the squares together trying to balance them on the corners. I stuck it on the wall and I realised they hadn't got the balance which meant they kept falling off. So I changed the design of the cube using a flat edge along one side which meant it could stick it properly. Then I cut stripes to make it sturdy.

After this prototype, I drew a digram of how to do present the final piece. I decided to cut the cubes using a laser cutting machine ensuring the cut was straight and accurate.

After I cut the cubes, I used the glue gun to stick them to make it stronger. After this, I had cut images and stuck it on. Before the cubes, I had put the feathers background on it and also I put the feathers on the top and bottom of the cube.

The final pieceI hope is dramatic and makes people stop, look and think. The two images are a complete contrast to each other, but tell a story about Muslim women, which is the true story? I hope my project shows that Muslim women are bright, bold and energetic but most of all peaceful women whatever they wear.
